Is it not a bit ironic the way people have celebrated this royal wedding?

Judging by the number of thumbs down I have received on answers to questions about the Royal Wedding, it has become clear that many British people will not have anyone speak of the Royal Family in less than glowing terms. These people appear to "want to have their cake and eat it too".
