Regarding the Duggar family (19 Kids and Counting)...?

I imagine they probably wanted to educate the world and change the stereotypes we have about those sorts of families being small-minded, bigoted, hypocritical, and so on. They probably also wanted to show us that it is possible to refrain from using contraception without having a screwed up family. If they're the way you describe, I'd say they were successful.
