Why did not the old prophets recognize and publicize evolution? Is Evolution not that obvious?

I think the reason is because they saw nothing to suggest any other source than God. All around them they witnessed an intelligent design that they knew could not come together so wonderfully by chance. Not only that, but they had spiritual encounters with God and no room was given for them to theorize God out of creation. I think it is just as difficult today when the earth doesn't yield the millions of intermediate species Darwin said must exist for his theory to be true; and the artists' renditions of partial and mutated skulls are found more suspect. Furthermore, population growth analysis make it very difficult for any modern stage or protohistoric age of mankind to be around for millions of years without populating the earth over and over again. And in science we now know that almost all genetic mutations- micro or macro are almost always negative results to the species having them- not making them able to survive longer. From an archaelogical perspective, the earliest finds of ancient civilizations in southern Mesopotamia don't even reach back longer than ten thousand years BC. And it's curious that the earliest finds in civilization match the locations of ancient biblical history. So evolution is still a very difficult theory to believe in, no matter how many universities teach it as fact. As for me, I see the complex design of an intelligent creator everywhere :)
